Take action and bring art to the streets with this DIY printable PDF.

This set includes various file size options based on standard European copy paper (A4 and A3). Soon, I’ll also offer versions optimized for standard US printers.

The original woodcuts are slightly larger than A2 (42 × 59.6 cm). You can print this size in four A4 sheets or two A3 sheets and assemble them. For a faster and easier alternative, choose the cropped versions, where each portrait fits on a single A4 or A3—perfect for quick and effective street pasting.

As a former punk, I’ve always loved making gig flyers on copy machines. Since I was limited to budget Xerox machines, I developed a preference for non-standard, high-impact formats like A2. However, A3 and A4 remain practical, effective, and quick to paste.

About the Project

Paper Monument is a poetic memorial for refugees without identity papers. Since 2013, it has grown from community art workshops into an international street art campaign. By pasting these portraits in your city, you help raise awareness and honor those whose identities have been erased

How to Use

• Print this document at home, at a copy shop, at your university, or anywhere with a copy machine, laser printer, or water-resistant inkjet printer.
• If printing in multiple parts, trim the white borders and merge the sections into a complete portrait before or during pasting.
